President
David Smith's concentrations are on commercial, industrial, school and church facilities' HVAC systems. He specializes in project management, client relations, and HVAC system design. David co-founded Smith-Goth Engineers in 1996. Prior to that, he was Principal Engineer of Smith & Associates for 18 years. Recent examples of his experience are to follow.
- Nixa High School—Project Engineer for a new 260,000 square foot, 3-story high school incorporating a 3000 seat gymnasium, a theater, and a football stadium. The mechanical system has a 350-ton centrifugal chiller, two boilers, and 4-pipe air handling units with VAV control.
- Headache Care Center Associates/Primary Care Network—Project Engineer for this 1-story, 22,500 square feet, Medical Office & Clinic Building and Physicians Training Center.
- Evangel Student Union Building and Evangel fine Arts Building—Project Engineer for these two 2-story University Buildings. Each incorporated high-efficiency 4-pipe and VAV HVAC systems and special lighting and electrical distribution.
- Springfield Central High School - Project Engineer for this $19 million project involving 123,000 sq. ft. of new construction and renovation of 180,000 sq. ft. of existing school space, some dating to 1893. A complete 4-pipe HVAC system was installed throughout, including a 600 ton chiller.
- Orthopedic Specialists of Springfield Medical Office Building—Project Engineer for this 58,000 square feet, 23-Hour Outpatient Surgery Center. Systems include full vacuum and medical gas design, specialized OR HVAC, and lighting systems.
